NCPU President's Report - By Jeff Jakus

I reported in last month's column that the NCPU User's Group was in good shape, but 1998 is going to bring some fairly significant changes to the group. First of all, we have had a very difficult time producing a list of volunteers to sit on our Board of Directors for the next year. As a result of that, a number of the existing board members agreed to run for election again, with the caveat that we reduce the meeting frequency to 4 times per year. This was proposed, discussed, a motion was made and the vote was carried for a 4 meeting per year agenda starting immediately.

The February program was previously scheduled and it was agreed to move ahead with this meeting. The new schedule of meetings for the balance of this year will be: April 21st, August 18th and November 17th. The group will most likely host the annual Christmas Party again this year in December.

The NCPU members that have volunteered to run for the board this year, without additional restrictions, are:
Jim Brown, Tammy Koehn, Sally Hober, Jeff Jakus, Jerry Robinson, Dave Weaver, Linda Gardner-King and Homer Benjamin
Ballots will be prepared and mailed to the membership soon, and the new Board of Directors will be installed at the April meeting, where officers will then be elected.
