TAG Consulting's Bruce Johnson Presents:
Selling MultiValue

Many I.S. managers in the MultiValue arena are facing pressure from upper management to migrate to a more 'mainstream' database and application environment.  While in some cases, there may be a valid reason for deciding to take this path, in many instances it's more a response to media hype than any pressing concern.  Those of you who sell package software are faced with similar problems.  How do you counter the client's opposition that your application is not based on Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase?

The purpose of this presentation is to present the facts, figures and examples which let you make a compelling case for the MultiValue environment.  We will look at a number of case studies, identify some of the technical weaknesses of the SQL-based databases and consider the on-going support issues raised by using a database other than a MultiValue one.

Bruce Johnson is the President of TAG Consulting, a consulting company that specializes in helping businesses utilize computer systems to gain a competitive advantage.  Bruce has over 14 years of experience in the computer industry, including the last 11 years in the MultiValue database (i.e. UniVerse, UniData and PICK) market.

TAG Consulting is a consulting company specializing in the use of MultiValue database systems with both client/sever and data warehousing applications.  As well, TAG Consulting offers hands-on training in Windows NT, Visual Basic and client/server application development.

Before starting TAG Consulting, Bruce was a Senior Consultant and Technical Specialist with Stauffer Information Systems.  A lot of his time there was spent working on UNIX migration projects, both large and small.  As well as his experience with conversions, Bruce has also designed and implemented many business applications (using UniVerse, UniData and Visual Basic), and developed classes on Windows NT, Client/Server Application Development, ODBC and Visual Basic.
